CALIBRE, an employee-owned Management Consulting and Information Technology Solutions Company, is seeking a TCM V&G Hardware Software Engineer. The TCM V&G Senior Hardware Software Engineer provides technical support and serves as the technical subject matter expert in the deployment and integration of gaming technologies, simulation systems, and Army Mission Command systems. The TCM V&G Senior Hardware Software Engineer participates in evaluating and implementing software and hardware technologies to improve the delivery of training simulations; identifies, analyzes, develops, implements, and integrates hardware and software solutions based on industry best practices and customer insight and requirements; and provides hardware and software development support throughout the product lifecycle, from initial concept, to acceptance delivery, to sustainment maintenance.

Job Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Possesses and maintains an interim or active SECRET clearance.
  • Master’s degree or experience equivalent in technical disciplines such as engineering, mathematics, statistics, game development and related computer sciences in performing capability development and Research and Management R&M tasks.
  • Possesses Department of Defense (DoD) 8570 Information Assurance Technician Level II (IAT II) certification: CompTIA Security+ or higher Information Assurance certification.
  • Possesses CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Server+, CISCO CCT, or similar certification.
  • Complies with and meets Information Assurance Technician Level II (IAT II) Certification requirements as specified in 05-PR-M-0002, Information Assurance Best Business Practice (IA BBP), Information Assurance (IA) training and certification, as updated, i.e. Security + and complete Computing Environment (CE) certification and/or completion of training for primary area of support, (e.g. Cisco, Linux, Microsoft, VMware, etc.).
Required Experience
  • Three (3) years’ experience in leading technical teams in capability development, verification, validation and accreditation, software development and computer programming simulation integration.
  • Possesses three (3) years’ experience in hardware and software standards and protocols, the ability to apply architectures to real-world requirements, and an understanding of communications systems and networks.
  • Three (3) years’ experience in modifying existing gaming software, game design, action-script programming, Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR) and Mixed Reality (MR) hardware and software integration and developing special purpose software components to ensure efficiency and integrity between systems and applications.
  • Possesses experience in writing programs using C++, C#, Python, Perl, Visual Basic, JAVA, XML, database programming.
  • Three (3) years’ experience in implementing, testing, debugging and maintaining engine and game play code.
  • Three (3) years’ experience in military doctrine and training management and capability development preferred.
  • Three (3) years’ experience in providing technical advice for gaming, AR, VR and MR development as it relates to the Live, Virtual, Constructive and Gaming (LVG&G) Training.
  • Possesses three (3) years’ experience in game and software development.
  • Possesses experience in, but not limited to, C++ programming language, C#, Objective C, Visual Basic, JAVA, XML, Python, and LUA scripting languages.
  • Possesses experience using physics engines, accessing and customizing game libraries and APIs, as well as designing and integrating custom engine features.
  • Possesses computer science background with an emphasis in C++ programming language, computer architecture and software design, along with experience working in the gaming industry.
  • Possesses experience in creating content for modern game engines (such as but not limited to Unreal Engine, Unity, CryEngine, or Lumberyard) to include artificial intelligence, graphics, sound, tools, networking, physics and user interfaces.
