Job Description

CALIBRE Systems Inc, an employee-owned Management Consulting and Information Technology Solutions company, is looking for a Trail Maintenance Worker. The successful candidate will join a team to support range maintenance. The successful candidate will work directly with the CALIBRE Task Order Manager. This task will be conducted at Fort Knox, KY.

The candidate will have the ability to fasten attachments such as graders, plows, rollers, mowers (over 2000lbs), backhoes, seeders, and disk harrows to tractor, adjust equipment for proper operation, lubricate and make minor repairs to tractor and attachments, such as tightening bolts, replacing washers, cotter pins, and screws

The candidate will drive gasoline or diesel power tractor to perform the following:

  • Move materials
  • Draw implements
  • Tow trailers,
  • Pull out objects imbedded in the ground
  • Pull cable of winch to raise, lower, or load heavy material or equipment

Job Requirements

  • Operate heavy equipment to push and grade or load and relocate earth, rip rap, gravel, or other materials; clear brush, stubble, tree stumps, and/or other debris; and repair and maintain access trails to training areas.
  • Operate heavy equipment from one place to another, on both improved and unimproved roads in inclement weather conditions.
  • Perform equipment safety inspections prior to daily use.
  • Report equipment breakdowns, schedule maintenance for all equipment and request additional equipment as needed.
  • Obtain parts and repair quotes for equipment required to complete assigned tasks safely.
  • Ability to use proper lifting/loading techniques to load and deliver heavy equipment to project sites.
  • Follow installation safety regulations and provide daily safety briefings to all applicable personnel.
  • Verify appropriate safety training is received in order to properly operate equipment according to OSHA standards and guidelines.
  • Maintain records of equipment inventory.
  • Account for and document all government furnished equipment.
Required Experience
  • Experience demonstrating the ability to work both individually and in team groups all consistent with the organizational goals.
  • Experience with Best Management Practices and their application to projects and tasks.
  • Experience working with the military or DoD.
