Job Description

CALIBRE, an employee-owned Management Consulting and Information Technology Solutions Company, is looking for a Quality Assurance Testing Specialist to support work at a Federal client in Washington, DC.

The Testing Specialist prepares test plans, automated tests, and test scripts prior to application releases. As a release nears completion, the Testing Specialist executes scripts, prepares test results, updates test documentation, and other documentation as required.

The successful candidate will design and develop effective and efficient test plans, test cases and testing procedures using the templates, materials and processes prescribed by the Project Manager or other responsible officials. 

  • Perform system testing of applications by executing scripts including specific test cases for Section 508 compliance.
  • Where practical, develop automated testing routines using Selenium or other prescribed tools.
  • Document test plans and test specifications to include documenting the testing methodologies used.
  • Develop expertise in the application being tested and provide to clients and other departments
  • Agile development methodology is being employed on a project, participate in Scrum Team activities as prescribed by the Project Manager.
  • Perform load and regression tests using Selenium and Java Script.
  • Communicate with end users as required to identify application issues and help clarify or solve the issue
  • Develop defect reports to be shared with the development team for resolution.
  • Document and track defects identified in the testing of the application using the documentation tools prescribed by the Project Manager
  • Provide timely updates to management on testing status and scheduling as required including input for project status reports.
  • Work with the team to track all software defects identified to resolution and report on a periodic basis to project management on the number, type, and status of outstanding defects.


Required Skills

  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Product Suite.
  • Ability to use Accessibility testing tools.
  • Ability to develop automated test scripts using Selenium and/or JavaScript.
  • Ability to clear standard OPM background investigation.


Required Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate field.
  • 2-5 years of experience which included experience in the following areas: Functional and application testing, regression testing techniques and tools, at least 3 years experience with projects of similar scope, functionality, working knowledge and experience of accessibility and Section 508 standards.
  • Other education, commensurate experience and demonstrated ability of individual may be substituted.

Desired Experience:

  • DHS 508 Certified Tester.
