Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Quality Assurance technician to review facility condition assessment data and reporting quality assurance (QA) for a variety of building types including: administrative, warehouses, medical, educational, research facilities, etc. The selected candidate will perform QA through on‐site analysis of facilities and analysis of data contained in the BUILDER™ Sustainment Management System (SMS) database in support of the BUILDER™ SMS implementation at various Department of Defense (DoD) Army agencies, as well as other military, civil, and Federal agencies located throughout CONUS and OCONUS. Note: Performing Facility Condition Assessments (FCAs) is not part of this position.

The qualified candidate shall have extensive experience performing QA tasks and data management of large datasets, specifically BUILDER™ SMS FCA data. QA technician must be proficient in identifying the different equipment and components of a building including sub-components; have knowledge in identifying the condition of building components, and an understanding of the appropriate corrective action when data deficiencies and needed remedies are observed. Some knowledge either in structural and roof systems or mechanical and electrical systems is required. Must be able to identify, communicate and implement process improvements without sacrificing quality. Use of computers and data entry software in field situations is required. Must be proficient in Excel and Word.



Required Skills

 

  • Possess solid knowledge of U.S. Army Corp of Engineers Research Lab BUILDERTM SMS software.
  • Thorough understanding of applying condition rating to all inventory items according to the definition of Green, Amber, Red developed by the Construction Engineering Research Laboratory (CERL-USACE).
  • Detailed knowledge either in structural and roof systems or mechanical and electrical systems is required.
  • Detailed knowledge in all four disciplines is preferred.
  • Must have good organizational and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to use computers and data entry software in field situations required. Implements quality control processes on collected data and verifies accuracy. 
  • Must be able to productively work with team members and deal with clients in a positive manner. 
  • Must be proficient in Excel and Word.


Required Experience

BS degree in Engineering, sciences or related field with minimum of 2 years’ experience; or 7 years’ related experience in facility operations or building trades.
