Job Description

CALIBRE Systems Inc., an employee-owned Management Consulting and Information Technology Solutions company, is looking for a Project Scheduler. The successful candidate will support the U.S. Army Office of Energy Initiatives and the U.S. Air Force Office of Energy Assurance Engineering Teams with developing conceptual design and cost estimates for projects and ensuring all services and products delivered comply with Government Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) and Air Force Instruction (AFI) requirements.

The Engineering Teams are comprised of technical systems engineering resources knowledgeable in specific renewable and alternative energy technologies, utility systems engineering, microgrid, electrical distribution infrastructure, energy storage, utility control, cost estimating, and energy security systems to support its activities. These resources work collaboratively to develop and execute opportunities that related to specific energy projects.

The Engineering Teams provide technical expertise to Government decision makers for energy program requirements, interpretation, and development of program guidance, and assist with development of policy/guidance for energy program planning and evaluation. The Engineering Teams conduct engineering studies to determine capabilities of existing equipment, utility services, and energy-related systems. To maximize utility efficiency and minimize overall cost, the teams calculate statistical averages, cumulative and rolling averages, statistical trends, rates of change, percentages, etc. As renewable energy technologies experts, the teams evaluate and coordinate the development and acquisition of a wide variety of energy conservation projects, including photovoltaic, concentrated solar, biomass, and geothermal.

This Project Scheduler positon duties includes creating and updating design and construction activities and tasks of multiple construction project schedules. The Project Scheduler will develop and maintain detailed resource loaded critical path method schedules, maintain project baselines, monitor earned value performance, integrate multiple schedules into a master project schedule, develop and maintain a summary level schedule report and milestone table. The Project Scheduler will schedule estimations through collaboration with project teams and stakeholders and update, as needed.

Specific tasking for this Project Scheduler will include:

  • Develop and maintain quality project schedules in alignment with industry best practices;
  • Measure and track progress to activities and milestones;
  • Gather project schedule information and data from key project stakeholders;
  • Analyze project schedule performance trends by comparing plan against actual and baseline data;
  • Provide recommendations and guidance to the Project Manager;
  • Attend and participate in project status meetings;
  • Maintain project documentation; and
  • Manage information and data within various software and databases.

Required Skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Project, or other scheduling software including use of dependencies, cost loading, resource loading, resource leveling.

Required Experience
  • Experience using Microsoft Project and Earned Value methodologies;
  • Experience developing and maintaining project schedules for large capital construction projects, including WBS development, task definition, predecessor/successor linking, cost and resource loading, baseline setting, etc.;
  • Demonstrated success working in a fast-paced, project-centric environment;
  • Understanding of project management and business processes and systems;
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Experience developing, enhancing, and implementing processes and tools.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Security clearance
