Job Description

CALIBRE Systems, Inc., an employee-owned Management Consulting and Information Technology Solutions company is looking for a Pricing Manager to support our Growth Operations team at our headquarters in Alexandria, VA.The Pricing Manager supports contract proposal preparation, proposal cost volume development, cost estimation, and departmental operations duties.

You will function in a fast paced proposal environment and work closely with program/proposal team members, developing cost proposals while ensuring compliance and schedule adherence. While the position works under consultative direction toward long-range goals and objectives, assignments are often self-initiated, with considerable latitude for independent judgment. You will be viewed as an expert within the pricing field within the company.

Duties include:

  • Perform analysis and prepare pricing response for proposals, ranging in size from $4M to $100M or higher.
  • Work with leadership to devise and recommend bidding strategies to effectively compete against competitors.
  • Interact with Capture Team, Business Development, Contracts and Procurement, and Executive Management to fully understand Level of Effort and pricing requirements.
  • Summarize the details of the conclusions derived from the competitive analysis; conduct formal briefings to Executive Management; respond effectively to various competitive scenarios and counterpoints during real-time strategy discussions.
  • Conduct pricing proposal reviews and win strategy workshops.
  • Prepare presentations and reports for senior management and leadership related to competitive pricing analysis.
  • Perform direct analysis of the solicitation's pricing requirements and evaluation criteria, gather intelligence, and develop a competitive pricing analysis culminating in a target rate, win price, or other analysis as appropriate.


Required Skills
  • Strong understanding of Federal government pricing process and policies, FAR, and GSA Schedule contracts.
  • Understanding of the concept of cost vs. price, direct and indirect rate structures, professional compensation structures (salary and fringe), and labor classifications (exempt and non-exempt).
  • Use of Microsoft Office Applications with a strong proficiency in Excel, including manipulating spreadsheets to conduct what-if scenarios, as well as generating moderate to complex spreadsheets for presentation to leadership.
  • Ability to multi-task and balance a number of proposals in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail, creativity and inquisitiveness, highly organized.
  • Ability to be equally successful working independently and within a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, organizational skills, analytical ability, and proven ability to work within teams.

Required Experience
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Business, Finance, or other quantitative fields.
  • At least 3-5 years work experience in one of the following disciplines (or a combination thereof): pricing, program control, financial analysis, market research, or consulting, focused on providing business strategies, competitive intelligence, or market research within the Federal marketplace.
  • Experience supporting the RFP/bids process, contract processes, and sourcing initiatives.
