Job Description

CALIBRE, an employee-owned Management Consulting and Information Technology Solutions Company, is looking for a Mission Command Specialist provides technical support, systems administration, and serves as the technical subject matter expert in the deployment and integration of gaming technologies, simulation systems, and Mission Command systems (MCS) in support of TRADOC TCM-ITS and US Army Centers of Excellence (CoE), Schools, and education Institutions. The Mission Command Specialist provides C4I systems troubleshooting and issue resolution; diagnostics of tactical communications and networks; and set-up, maintenance, upgrades, configuration management, and over-the-shoulder training for fielded C4I systems. The Mission Command Specialist participates in the evaluation and implementation of software and hardware technologies to improve the delivery of training simulations; identifies, analyzes, develops, implements, and integrates hardware and software solutions based on industry best practices and customer insight and requirements; plans, builds, distributes, and tests MCS databases and supporting configuration files in support of live, virtual, constructive, and Gaming (LVC-G) integrated exercises.

  • Provides technical Support and setup, coordinates with external agency technical leads, and documents re-occurring technical meetings, tests, exercises, and events.
  • Installs, configures, and troubleshoots the MCS, C2 hardware and software and LVC-G simulation hardware and software; designs and executes mission command architectures in support of the simulations environment.
  • Develops, manages, and documents problem tracking and resolution (PTR).
  • Applies hardware and software standards, protocols, and architectures to real–world requirements for communications systems and networks.
  • Evaluates factors such as reporting formats required, cost constraints, and security restrictions to determine hardware and software configurations.
  • Monitors hardware and software implementation and ensures integrity of the software and information systems; makes necessary modifications to ensure systems operate in conformance with specifications.
  • Evaluates GOTS/COTS hardware and software interfaces and operational and performance requirements.
  • Plans and executes C4ISR systems hardware and software updates, software patches, security fixes, and service releases.
  • Ensures that data security, including data retrieval, transmission, and storage, is conducted in accordance with (IAW) applicable government standards to ensure that data transmission and storage are secure and free from unauthorized access IAW AR 380-5 and AR 25-2.
  • Provides analysis for the design, development, and implementation of hardware and software solutions.
  • Attends training, seminars, conferences, and events to enhance products and services relevancy to the operational training requirements.

Job Requirements

PREFERRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Four (4) years of experience in MSC training and integration with training simulations.
  • Experience in software testing, analysis, troubleshooting, problem trouble report development, management and documentation (PTRs), and operating the current military gaming suite toolkit.
  • Experience with the operation and technical support of CPOF, AFATDS, DDS-M, RF, SATCOM, or VSAT, and COMSEC devices.
  • Experience in providing simulation-stimulation-MCS advice to support capability development and exercise design and support.
  • Experience with Windows 7, Microsoft Exchange and Windows Server technologies, and Host Based Security System administration.
  • Experience in developing and executing functional vignettes for test events and planning and executing OREs.
  • Experience providing technical advice for gaming development as it relates to the LVC&G Training Environment.
  • Experience applying architectures to real world requirements utilizing current MSC platforms.
  • Knowledge and experience working with common computer hardware interface and data protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, RS-422, USB, PCI, and RIO.
  • Knowledge of current SharePoint and hardware engineering practices.
  • Knowledge of MCS database administration in all Battle Functional Areas.
  • Knowledge and experience working with network architectures, virtualization software, and distributed application development.
  • Knowledge in all aspects of Corps through BN level operations employing MCS.
  • Knowledge of the processes and procedures related to supporting large scale simulation federations, National Simulation Center events, and Mission Training Complex operations.
  • Ability to prepare and deliver technical and non-technical information and instructional briefings and other training to team members and government personnel.

Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a technical discipline: Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Management, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical discipline. Six (6) years’ experience with MCS will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor degree on a case by case basis.
  • Possesses DoD 8570 IAT II certification: CompTIA Security+ or higher Information Assurance certification.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Possesses and maintains an active SECRET clearance.
