Job Description

CALIBRE, an employee-owned Management Consulting and Information Technology Solutions Company is looking for a Jr. Programmer to join our dynamic team!

Duties include:

Application Development Activities (80.00%):

  • Participate in full life cycle system development activities for different applications (requirements definition, design, development, testing (verification/validation), implementation, quality assurance and client/customer support).
  • Participate and conduct weekly status meetings with the client for certain applications.
  • Adhere to project standards as defined in CMMI Level 2 activities
  • Maintain and update project documentation.
  • Assist other members of the team in solving technical problems
  • Participate in regularly scheduled CMMI Level 2 meetings (i.e., CCB and SEG meetings)
  • Ability to mentor and provide leadership to junior member of the team
  • Participate in improving the software development processes used on the engagement.

Special Request Activities (15.00%):

  • Monitor servers for memory and disk space usage.
  • Ability to work independently with all client staff (junior to senior level) to gather requirements and to formulate solutions to their ad hoc inquires

Other Activities (5.00%):

Maintain and enhance internal tools used at the engagement (CR Tracking Database).

Job Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
  • Knowledge of bash scripting, Visual Basic.
  • Familiarity with working in a repository such as Subversion (SVN), GitHub
  • Experience with DB tools like TOAD and/or SQL Developer
  • Familiarity with Apache ANT, Anthill, Jenkins
  • Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics (or similar web statistics tools)
  • Knowledge of NIH's grants process and NIH’s IMPAC II database and related enterprise applications

Required Experience
  • Experience with MS Access VBA
  • A minimum of years’ experience in software design, development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, or problem diagnosis/resolution
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other relevant discipline; or equivalent work experience
  • Performs requirements analysis, software design, development, installation, testing, and maintenance for application system components for large-scale and distributed systems. Performs operating system and/or product evaluation, integration, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution. Provides technical leadership, reviews work products, and makes technical recommendations, as needed, for changes in the supported technical architecture.
