Job Description

CALIBRE, an employee-owned management and Technology Solutions company, is seeking experienced Instructional Systems Designers (ISDs). The position requires a senior instructional system designer. A successful candidate must have experience in designing course curricula, analyzing training needs, conducting needs/gap assessments, and identifying learning objectives. The work is located in the Northern Virginia area, exact location may vary. Up to 10% local travel is required.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Assesses, designs, develops, approves and implements highly complex learning solutions for technical and non-technical training courses.
  • Formulates learning curriculum strategies, and creates content utilizing knowledge of learning theory and curriculum methodology to meet training/development requirements.
  • Develops training assessment and evaluation tools and other measures to ensure that the course content, format, and delivery are successful.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to determine specific design focus.
  • Design, develop, and evaluate instructional materials.

Job Requirements

  • Must hold an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with full scope polygraph;
  • Design complex and customer-specific learning solutions for delivery in a blended approach to include the development of new and conversion/redesign of existing materials.
  • Conduct needs assessments, analyzing findings, and developing recommendations for training interventions.
  • Design and implement advance evaluation protocols (via Kirkpatrick or similar methodologies) to assess behavioral or acknowledgement improvements demonstrated in post-training events.
  • Facilitate coordination between customers and developers to define optimal delivery software.
  • Work in a cross-team collaborative environment and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to problem solve with minimal supervision; solid decision-making skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in ISD or related field with 16 years relevant work experience.
