Job Description

CALIBRE Systems Inc., an employee-owned Management Consulting and Information Technology Solutions company, is looking for a GIS Analyst for the Army's Integrated Training Area Management program. The Army’s Integrated Training Area Management (ITAM) program provides training land management capability to ensure Army training lands are always accessible, available, and capable of supporting training requirements. This is accomplished by integrating military training requirements with environmental compliance requirements and by increasing the carrying-capacity of training lands through small to medium-scale horizontal construction and erosion control projects. The successful candidate will join a team to support the creation, analysis, management, and distribution of standardized geospatial information, products, and services to support range modernization, range operations, and the Integrated Training Area Management Program at Fort Eustis, VA. The successful candidate will work directly with the Installation Government Representative (IGR) and CALIBRE PM.

The successful candidate will:

  • Develop maps supporting ITAM Workplan activities and military training activities;
  • Manage GIS database including creation, analysis, development, and distribution of geospatial data, information and map products;
  • Proactively inform the project manager and/or Installation Government Representative of risks and issues; and
  • Document task execution against Performance Work Statement (PWS).

Job Requirements

  • Demonstrate ability to use ESRI’s ArcGIS desktop to produce and update datasets, map products, metadata, and summary statistics;
  • Working knowledge of both raster and vector datasets;
  • Ability to perform spatial analysis (including buffers, extractions, etc.) using ESRI’s ArcToolbox;
  • Familiarity with SDSFIE and FGDC metadata schema;
  • Familiarity with SQL in a relational database environment;
  • Experience with GPS data collection and field mapping procedures;
  • Knowledge of Trimble mapping grade GPS hardware and software;
  • Demonstrate ability to consistently and efficiently follow standard workflows and instructions;
  • Conversant with Microsoft Office applications;
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication;
  • Very strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Must be able to work with a diverse group of Army civilian and military personnel including trainers, range operations staff, ecologists, archaeologists, engineers, and planners;
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills in order to provide strong focus and high quality customer service;
  • Must have a valid driver’s license;
  • Ability to maneuver on foot over rough terrain carrying up to 40 lbs.
Required Experience
  • Bachelor of Science degree. Other education, commensurate experience and demonstrated ability of individual may be substituted;
  • A minimum of one (1) year of demonstrated work experience.
