Job Description

CALIBRE Systems Inc., an employee-owned Management Consulting and Information Technology Solutions company is looking for a Geospatial Web Developer that will be responsible for the development and implementation of web based geospatial map services, content management, and application support. This position will also support the design, develop, and implementation of Web applications, Web services, and enterprise solutions for clients to include, but not limited to ESRI’s Adobe Flex AP and the JavaScript API. The Geospatial Web Developer will design and develop Web mapping sites for the management, manipulation, and visualization of spatial data, assist with application development estimating, planning, and progress tracking. This position also requires the writing of comprehensive technical specifications and support documentation. This position requires regular interaction with stakeholders for the purpose of requirements gathering and training. This position will also at times be responsible for assisting with the support of the information system operations, including Air Force information assurance standards and protocols, computer operations, technical support, and systems analysis. The Geospatial Web Developer may also assist with directing system administration, database administration, information system training and GeoBase education and awareness in coordination with ANG GeoBase Program Manager, Jacobs GeoBase Program Manager, and Jacobs A7 Administrator/Site lead. Reporting to the Jacobs A7 Administrator/Site Lead and supporting the ANG GeoBase Management team, this position's primary responsibility is ensuring the development and implementation of the ANG GIS web based map services and provide system and application support.

Job Requirements

  • Technical working knowledge of leading geospatial technologies, vendor software and software configurations;
  • Knowledge of web technologies, standards, and protocols;
  • Training & Certifications: DoD 8570 Certification required, e.g. CompTIA Security (Candidate must be able to obtain proper certification within first 6 months of employment if certification is not currently held);
  • Client interaction (written, verbal, communications skills).

Preferred Skills:

  • Applied knowledge of relevant industry, government, and DoD standards such as SDSFIE, ISO, and FGDC metadata standards.

Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (other education, military experience and demonstrated ability of individual may be substituted);
  • Candidates must have at least two years of experience in geospatial technologies implementation and development with one year proven experience implementing geospatial technologies projects;
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Desired Experience:

  • Experience working with enterprise-wide geospatial technologies programs is desired, especially DoD, Air Force, or Air National Guard GIS or GeoBase;
  • Experience with web technologies such as Dot Net Nuke;
  • Experience with MS SQL Server database management;
  • Experience authoring standard operating procedures and technical manuals for geospatial technologies;
  • Experience with requirements gathering and needs assessment;
  • Familiarity with industry standard Information Assurance policies and practices.
