Job Description

CALIBRE, an employee-owned management consulting and technology solutions company, is seeking a Director of Finance & Accounting to lead the Directorate and act as a Subject Matter Expert, Team Leader, and Mentor. The Director supervises Directorate personnel and employs systems to meet internal and external customer requirements. The Director improves and develops processes and procedures within the corporate system of systems to enable effective administration and management by team members. The Director ensures adherence to standard accounting procedures, supervises the maintenance of accounting and voucher files, manages the daily activities of the Directorate, and leads, develops, and cross-trains in addition to mentoring Directorate personnel. Major functional areas are: General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Project Accounting to include Accounts Receivable and Revenue Recognition. The Director reports to the Senior Vice President, Finance & Accounting and Controller. Responsibilities include:

  • General Ledger
    • Ensures CALIBRE accounting books and records are in kept accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Federal Acquisition Regulation, Cost Accounting Standards, and other regulatory standards.
    • Maintains General Ledger, to include monthly reconciliations.
    • Prepares and reviews corporate monthly financial reports.
    • Leads audits and tax preparation engagements.
    • Prepares and reviews annual budget.
    • Prepares and reviews Incurred Cost Proposal and Provisional Billing Rate Proposal to DCAA.
  • Accounts Payable
    • Communicates with vendors and external and internal customers.
    • Ensures adherence to CALIBRE Policies and Procedures.
  • Project Accounting
    • Prepares and reviews Contract Revenue Summary and Job Summary Report.
    • Maintains best practices on revenue recognition.
    • Analyzes Billed and Unbilled Receivables and ensures billing and collections are up to date.
  • Payroll
    • Prepares and reviews quarterly and annual payroll reconciliation.
    • Ensures CALIBRE timesheet process is followed.

Required Skills
  • A minimum of 10 years accounting experience with 8 years in a government contracting environment.
  • CPA is desired, but not required.
  • Knowledge of GAAP, FAR and CAS.
  • Experience with UltiPro, ADP, or similar payroll system.
  • Experience with Dynamics SL, Deltek or other project based system.
  • Strong Microsoft Office knowledge.
  • Effective and proven oral and written communication skills.

Required Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college/university. (Other education, commensurate experience and demonstrated ability of individual may be substituted.)
