Job Description

CALIBRE is seeking a Cost  Analyst to work as part of a team that analyzes data involved in  tracking of operating and support costs for systems to be used in the Army cost analysis and budgeting processes. The ideal candidate must have skills required to be able to: collect, organize, analyze and translate data into useful information for data processing and dashboard reporting and have excellent attention to details.

Primary duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Train on software and reporting systems. 
  • Participate in data collection, modeling, analysis and product generation.
  • Organize and translate data into useful automated information.
  • Conduct analyses including defining parameters of requested data output and analysis.
  • Support requirements and metrics development, definition, data quality assessment, and strategic analysis.  
  • Collect and analyze data to produce forecasts, assessments, recommendations, and reports.  
  • Assist with updating project databases, and researching/analyzing program management matters.
  • May assist with cost-benefit analyses, and recommend process improvements.
  • Assist in preparation of reports, briefings, and documentation and deliverables and translate data into useful strategic and tactical insights for leadership decision-making.
  • Examine data for trends and anomalies to draw actionable conclusions. 


Required Skills

 

  • Must hold or be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.  (U.S. Citizenship required)
  • Two or more years of related experience required. Specialized experience may substitute for years of experience.
  • Passion for solving problems with data and a high level of curiosity
  • Must possess analytical and database skills and strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to multi-task.
  • Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with MS Excel, including formulas, charts, graphs and pivot tables.
  • Experience using SQL: Executing SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, report building.


Required Experience

  • BS/BA degree.  Area such as Data Analytics, Operations Research, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, etc. preferred.   (Other education, commensurate experience and demonstrated ability of individual may be substituted)
  • Minimum of 2 years professional work experience providing data analytics services. CDFM, CCEA, DAWIA or other relevant certification a plus.

Preferred

  • Ability in one or more programming languages for data analysis such as R or Python (Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Scikit-learn)
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or QLIK
  • Experience in budgeting or cost-analysis
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Army’s PPBE process
  • Experience with Army Acquisition costing and enterprise data
