CALIBRE Systems Inc., an employee-owned Management Consulting and Information Technology Services company, is looking for a knowledgeable Benefits Specialist to join our HR team!

The Benefits Specialist is responsible for the design, implementation, and administration of CALIBRE’s overall benefit strategy and plans. This position also ensures the company’s benefit plans support the efforts to recruit and retain key talent and aligns with organizational goals and strategic plans.

The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of Benefit Laws, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, FMLA, COBRA and have a friendly, internal customer-oriented demeanor. This position works independently therefore, the right candidate must be extremely organized, pay attention to detail, and be able to handle multiple tasks with great follow through in a fast-paced environment.

Job Duties:

  • Measures effectiveness of current benefit programs, including trend analysis, cost-control measures, and risk assessment factors to determine programs best meeting needs of the company.
  • Provides suggestions for improvement to CALIBRE’s benefit strategy and plans based on usage, employee feedback, and industry benchmarks
  • Works as the liaison between employees and insurance carriers
  • Serves as the key contact with Benefit Broker, insurance carriers, and vendors
  • Assists in the negotiations and contracts with benefit plan carriers, benefit vendors, and other third party administrators
  • Coordinates annual Open Enrollment process to include: plan design, benefit carrier selection, cost sharing strategy, and implementation
  • Acts as CALIBRE's Wellness Program Coordinator
  • Maintains and manages the Benefits Portal to provide accurate scheduled and on demand reporting
  • Ensures CALIBRE’s compliance with all local, national and international laws concerning health and welfare benefits

Job Requirements

  • Full life cycle benefit administration (eligibility, enrollment, plan audits, wellness plans and carrier billing)
  • Developing and providing employee communication for benefit programs and government mandated notices
  • FMLA/STD/LTD/COBRA/Workers Compensation Administration
  • Annual Open Enrollment management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Required Experience

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ benefit administration experience
  • B.A/B.S Degree, a concentration in Human Resources preferred. (Other education, commensurate experience and demonstrated ability of individual may be substituted.)


  • PHR, CEBS, SHRM –CP and/or CBP certification preferred
  • Strong HRIS experience; UltiPro and Benefit Focus preferred
  • Experience with multiple Stateside and International benefit plans
  • Experience with Service Contract Act employees
