CALIBRE Systems Inc., an employee-owned Management Consulting and Information Technology Services company, is looking for an Automotive Technical Training / Recruiting Project Manager. l The Automotive Technical Training & Recruiting Project Manager is responsible for the delivery of technical training and recruiting services for a major Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) in the luxury and performance automotive segment within the USA and Canada. They are responsible for the supervision of technical trainers, assistant trainers, technical recruiters, and administrative support staff located at multiple regions / markets and OEM training sites, as well as delivering occasional onsite after sales training and recruiting support at dealerships and special events locations. The Project Manager serves as the primary liaison between the technical training and recruiting staff and the OEM and is responsible for the planning, execution, and control of all contract support personnel under the guidance and direction of CALIBRE’s Director for Industry Management Services and the OEM’s Director for Training and Recognition Programs.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following required skills:

  • Task Management – The ability to manage complex tasks, independently or as part of a team, meeting quality and schedule goals within a resource and time constrained environment;
  • Technical Expertise- The ability to provide automotive service, personnel management, budgeting, scheduling, organizing, and leadership technical expertise to deliver a superior client experience.
  • Communications – The ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts and how they add value to proposed and delivered client solutions. Must be capable of managing and supporting a diverse group of people (clients, employees, management, subcontractors, and other stakeholders) with competing interests and priorities.
  • Human resource Management – Must be skilled in team-building and team supervision. Must demonstrate the ability to prescribe standards and performance expectations and enforce them; ability to coach/mentor, develop, and train subordinate team members; and, the ability to work closely with peers to reach common goals and objectives. Must have the ability to manage a large technical recruiting operation in accordance with applicable HR statutes, policies and procedures.
  • Project Management – Must demonstrate the ability to manage all aspects of a project: technical delivery; financial management; client deliverables; and records management. The ideal candidate will deliver the skills to plan, execute, track, and control a project with minimal supervision. The Automotive Technical Training & Recruiting Project Manager must be capable of: ensuring compliance with business rules for operations; managing contracting and sub-contracting requirements; and, managing project risks and issues to include developing mitigation plans.
  • Business Development – The ability to identify and develop new business opportunities. The ability to identify and shape new opportunities, develop proposals, and provide capture management for small to large business opportunities.
Required Experience
  • Bachelors Degree
  • 10 or more years of technical training experience with a major luxury performance automotive Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) level (example: Audi of America, BMW of North America, Jaguar Land Rover North America, Mercedes-Benz USA, etc.)
  • 10 or more years managing and coordinating technical training and body shop personnel
  • 10 or more years managing OEM sponsored service technician recruiting and development programs, to include sponsored military Veteran and vocational technical school programs in support of dealer operations
  • 10 or more years developing and managing OEM training analytics, classroom and workshop utilization efficiency, technical fleet management and technical training facilities.
  • 5 or more years of managing an OEM training operational budget in excess of $2.5 million
  • 5 or more years of managing a US based OEM training operation in compliance with a major parent foreign manufacturer headquarters
  • 5 or more years of managing technical delivery and development teams as well as developing strategic plans for improving technical training and delivery methodologies
  • 5 years of experience achieving OEM level customer service global targets for service technician and body technicians
  • 5 or more years managing service technician recruiting programs provided by contracted external consultants / business partners
  • Proven familiarity with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Capability to create and edit PDF documents


  • 5 or more years of project management experience
  • Master’s degree
