Job Description

CALIBRE Systems Inc., an employee-owned Management Consulting and Information Technology Solutions company, is looking for an Automotive Technical Trainer. The Automotive Technical Trainer will deliver Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) technical training.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and deliver technical instruction to Retailer and Corporate students to enhance their learning and proficiency in the service, diagnostics, and repair of Jaguar Land Rover vehicles, and new product training (60%);
  • Prepare and delivery quality training through effective instructor preparation and classroom/lab preparation (25%):
    • Prepare for instruction delivery (includes setup and takedown before and after course delivery);
    • Review the latest Technical Bulletins and Special Service Messages to remain proficient and knowledgeable on product technical matters;
    • Review and rehearse lesson plans and presentations; and,
    • Participate in Train-the-Trainer sessions to expand and enhance training delivery capability and capacity.
  • Maintain the training center facility, vehicles, and equipment (15%):
    • Insure training classroom and lab facilities are properly maintained, secured, and clean;
    • Conduct routine inspections of training fleet vehicles to ensure they are clean and in acceptable mechanical condition;
    • Correct training fleet vehicle deficiencies as necessary and raise unresolved issues to the Technical Training Manager as appropriate;
    • Maintain training fleet vehicle usage logs; and,
    • Provide weekly assessments of training equipment / vehicle needs and repairs to the Technical Training Manager.

Job Requirements

  • Capability to instruct 9 to 14 Jaguar Land Rover Global Learner Journey Courses;

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills;

  • Proven interpersonal, coaching, and mentoring skills;

  • Demonstrated organizational and planning skills;
  • Proven automotive service technician skills;
  • Strong technical and analytical skills;
  • Strong communication skills – required;
  • Ability to prepare, reproduce, and deliver training materials;
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint);
  • Ability to prepare objective student evaluations;
  • Ability to prepare internal reports;
  • Ability to work with consultants and sub contractors;
  • Must be able to travel up to 25%.
Required Experience
  • 5 or more years of technical experience in an automotive service environment – required;
  • 2 or more years of luxury and performance Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) technical training delivery experience - desired;
  • Strong automotive technical and analytical skills – required;
  • Solid automotive electrical theory and diagnostics skills - required;
  • Strong communication skills – required;
  • ASE Certification A1-8 - desired;
  • Bachelor’s Degree - desired;
  • For military Veteran applicants, Instructor Trainer Certification (ITC) - required.
