CALIBRE Systems, Inc, an Employee-Owned mission focused solutions and digital transformation company, is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to work with a data team driving advanced analytics initiatives used in the Army cost analysis and budgeting processes. This Data Scientist will assist with overseeing the development, implementation, and execution of project data plans, ensure scope and schedule are established for projects and assignments, and assist with the operating plan and resource allocation for the group, including prioritization and development deployments. This is a hands-on technical role where you will be responsible for delivering end-to-end analytics, from understanding the business challenges to presenting insights to wide-ranging business and technical audiences. Candidate will need to have experience with Army ERP systems and participate in data collection, modeling, analysis and product generation. Organize and translate data into useful automated information. Conduct analyses including defining parameters of requested data output and analysis. Assist in preparation of reports, briefings, and documentation deliverables.
The ideal candidate should be able to learn and provide input on how to create new sources of data-driven innovation through technology and analytics that would add value to our customers. They will explore new ways to analyze data using statistical methods, machine learning and predictive models. They will have experience of working with large data and data lakes and assist with identification and traceability of data and mapping.
As a CALIBRE Data Scientist, you will have the opportunity to research and experiment with innovative new techniques in data visualization, machine learning, statistics, and operations research in a cloud environment. The ideal candidate must be passionate about helping others solve problems, gain insights, and make decisions using data. They will display deep technical knowledge and be able to communicate it to a wide-ranging audience.
Required Skills
- Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)
- Must have or be able to obtain a Security + certification within the first 90 days of employment
- Must have or be able to obtain av AWS data engineer or machine learning certification withing the first 6 months of employment

MS/ BS in related degree such as Data Analytics, Operations Research, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, etc. (Other education, commensurate experience and demonstrated ability of individual may be substituted) MS is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years professional work experience providing data analytics services. CDFM, CCEA, DAWIA or other relevant certification preferred.

- Ability to provide technical leadership and broad subject matter expertise on cutting-edge computational, quantitative, and algorithmic techniques applicable to data science
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team on a large fast paced project
- Experience curating relationships and disseminating work between cross-functional teams of data scientists, data engineers and application developers
- Ability to oversee the entire lifecycle of projects, including scoping, design, modeling, validation, deployment
- Experience building predictive and prescriptive models and simulations
- Experience with data cleaning, model testing, results presentation and documentation
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, QLIK or Quicksight
- Experience with AI tools or interest in learning
- Ability to evaluate open-source and vendor-based tools, applications, platforms, frameworks and programming languages.
- Exceptional communications skills with ability to present to technical and business audiences, including executive-level customers
- Experience with Army ERP systems such as VANTAGE, GFEBS, G-Army, or other transitioning ERP systems
- Advanced ability in one or more programming languages for data analysis such as R or Python
Preferred
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, QLIK or Quicksight
- Experience with Machine Learning
- Experience in budgeting or cost-analysis
- Knowledge and understanding of the Army’s PPBE process
- Experience with Army Acquisition costing and enterprise data
