CALIBRE is an employee-owned, mission-focused solutions and digital transformation company. We are seeking an AWS Specialist - Intern with a strong interest in learning AWS services to support the design, development, and reengineering of web applications. This role will work closely with the technical lead and development team to build scalable, high-performing solutions in a secure cloud environment. This position will expose the candidate to data engineering, solutions architecture, and development concepts. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals majoring in technical and/or engineering curriculums. Following completion of this internship will build confidence in the candidate to pass the AWS Practitioner exam.
The candidate will report to the project manager and/or technical lead of a modernization project. The candidate will be exposed to significant use of AWS tools and services that are essential to the AWS Practitioner field of discipline. The candidate will be paired with a developer or designer implementing customer requirements using AWS tools and services such as Glue and Lambda. In addition, the candidate will participate in gathering requirements and assist in converting the requirements to technical specifications and documentation using Jira and Confluence.
This position is Remote and requires U.S. Citizenship as we will be helping potential candidate to obtain a US Security Clearance.
This position is only open to rising Junior and rising seniors looking to complete their college degrees.
Required Skills
- Studying key AWS services as described in the AWS Practitioner field of study
- Participate in peer development in python and merge request discussions
- Contribute to peer writing Technical Description Document (TDD) and System Design Document (SDD)
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define, design, and document features in a git software management tool (e.g. JIRA).
- Participate in peer development creating reusable patterns using the AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK)
- Exposure to working with front-end technologies and back-end languages (e.g. Python) in AWS.
required Experience
- At least a junior in an accredited, postgraduate school majoring in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, or Engineering.
- At least 1 year of course work programming in high level languages such as python or c#.
- At least 1 year of course work completing a project using full stack development (front-end, back-end, and documentation). Evidence of the completed project must be submitted prior to the interview.
- Candidate must have a strong desire to be certified in at least one AWS Technical Certification, such as:
- AWS Certified Data Engineer – Associate
- AWS Certified Machine Learning Engineer – Associate
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate
- AWS Certified CloudOps Engineer – Associate
- AWS Certified Developer – Associate
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
- AWS Certified Machine Learning – Specialty
- AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty
- AWS Certified Security – Specialty
