CALIBRE Systems, Inc., an employee-owned mission focused solutions and digital transformation company, is looking for a highly motivated Data Platform and Governance Lead to join our dynamic team supporting a federal client. This role requires an innovative and collaborative mindset, with the ability to work closely with designers, back-end engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality, scalable digital solutions.  Candidates Must be US Citizens.  

 The budgeted salary for this role is $185K. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·       Administer the organization’s databases using database management systems to organize and store data

·       Gather user requirements, create databases, test and coordinate changes

·       Collaborate with development and end-user teams to determine data access needs, transaction rates, and volume analysis

·       Ensure optimal database performance and reliability

·       Coordinate physical changes to databases; code, test, and implement physical database structures

·       Design logical and physical databases or review proposed changes to understand impacts on physical storage and access methods

·       Establish physical database parameters and calculate optimal values for performance (e.g., memory allocation)

·       Define and manage user access levels for data operations such as insert, retrieve, update, and delete

·       Test, troubleshoot, and refine database changes to maintain integrity and performance

·       Monitor database performance using utility programs and adjust configurations as needed

·       Direct programmers and analysts in implementing changes to the database management system

·       Review and correct database-related programs and answer user inquiries

·       Assess the impact of database changes on other systems and associated costs

·       Perform performance tuning to optimize processing speed and efficiency

Train users on database functionality and best practices

Required Skills

Required Skills:

·       Deep understanding of data governance principles, including data quality, metadata management, and compliance

·       Familiarity with federal data standards, security, and privacy regulations (e.g., FISMA, FedRAMP)

·       Knowledge of data architecture and data lifecycle management across multiple platforms

·       Ability to develop and enforce data policies, standards, and best practices

·       Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for identifying and resolving data quality issues

·       Proficiency with data management tools and platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or similar cloud environments)

·       Experience facilitating collaboration between technical teams, business stakeholders, and compliance officers

·       Understanding of Agile and SAFe frameworks to support data governance in an iterative environment

·       Strong working knowledge (i.e. ability to lead discussions, present, and facilitate solutioning) of the following domains: Data privacy (specifically PII/PHI), Federal data policies, the Tricare Military Health System

required Experience

 

·       Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, [JC1] Computational Science, or similar data-centric degree program

·       10+ years of experience working on data-centric projects in an Agile environment

·       Experience working in an AWS environment (AWS certification preferred)

·       Demonstrated experience working with Federal healthcare agencies, Federal healthcare data, and/or data containing PII/PHI

 

Must Have the following: 

  •         5+ years as a team lead or other leadership role that involves managing mid-level and junior technical roles
  •      Active Secret Clearance at the Department of Defense (or eligibility to obtain a clearance). 
  •         Active Security+ certification
  •                   Ability to work east coast business hours (8am-5pm)
