Program Director - Transition Assistance Program

CALIBRE, an employee-owned management consulting and digital transformation company is looking for a Program Director. This position is in support of Department of Veterans Affairs Transition Assistance Program (TAP). The candidate will work daily with VA leadership in execution of all TAP activities across 300+ military locations world wide. The Program Director is responsible for overall management activities for the entire contract staff supporting the VA TAP project which includes administrative, management, plans, and operations areas. The Program Director integrates these functions across the organization to ensure resources and support functions are in place at the right time, right location, and right quantity to ensure mission success. The Program Director will work closely with the OTED Director and the COR to ensure awareness of changes that might affect support across the organization and work directly with the other key members of VA to understand their internal requirements, external stakeholder requirements, and those of other VBA and VA organizations, as required. 

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·         Provide program wide updates to all staff

·         Assist with personnel issues that develop during new employee training and participate in coaching sessions as necessary

·         Communicates guidance regarding continuing professional development opportunities

·         Develop mitigation strategies and communicate with VA counterparts on any risks, issues, or items for concern

·         Maintain communications and situational awareness of all program operations

·         Approves all project deliverables for delivery to VA TED

·         Leads weekly, monthly and semi-annual update meetings with VA TED

Required Skills

Knowledge of the Transition Assistance Program (TAP)

         Strong understanding of the military transition process and military life cycle

         Familiar with the military TAP leadership structure and process

 

required Experience

·         12+ years of relevant experience managing large programs and/or projects

·         Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

·         Proven track record of engaging with related agencies at a senior level
