Power BI Developer

CALIBRE Systems, Inc., an employee-owned management consulting and digital transformation company, is looking for a highly motivated Power BI Developer to join our team supporting a National Institutes of Health client. The candidate will design, develop, and deploy business intelligence solutions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Create customized charts, dashboards and interactive visual reports using Power BI
  • Analyze and present data through reports that aid decision-making
  • Convert business requirements into technical specifications and estimate level of effort
  • Create relationships between data and develop tabular and other multidimensional data models
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy Power BI scripts and perform detailed analytics
  • Analyze current ETL process, define and design new systems
  • Perform DAX queries and functions in Power BI
  • Participate in development of data warehouse and work with SSAS, SSIS, and SSRS
  • Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) with clear objectives and consistently monitor the results
  • Work with users and team members at all levels for performance improvement and suggestions
  • Create and maintain technical documentation

Required Skills

  • Understand business requirements in BI context and design data models to transform raw data into meaningful insights
  • Strong communication skills (verbal/written) to deliver technical insights and interpret data reports to the clients
  • Leadership qualities and thoughtful implementation of Power BI best practices to deliver effective solutions to the users
  • Able to comprehend and translate complex and advanced functional, technical, and business requirements into executable architectural designs

required Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Power BI development, dashboarding and data modeling and reporting (ad hoc report generation) techniques
  • Application design, architecting, development and deployment using Power BI
  • Data integration through extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL) data from various sources
  • Experience with NIH or another federal agency is a plus
  • Must be able to obtain a NIH Public Trust
