CALIBRE Systems Inc, an employee owned Management Consulting and Digital Transformation company, is looking for a Director/Quality Programs.  Location would be at our headquarters in Alexandria, VA.  

The Director, Quality Program reports to the Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer.  The Director leads CALIBRE’s Quality Program, including: maintaining program compliance; evaluating and growing CALIBRE’s Quality Management certifications; developing and providing training and support to CALIBRE’s Project Managers (PMs); and supporting cross-CALIBRE initiatives in coordination with Operations Divisions (OPS) and Corporate Staff communities. The Director identifies, coordinates, and facilitates effective continuous process improvement efforts across CALIBRE. The Director leads CALIBRE’s Quality Team which is composed of subordinate employees and matrixed personnel, hosts PM Community meetings, conducts training, oversees the internal quality management audit program, and supports the Corporate Leadership Team (CLT).

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the CALIBRE Quality Program
  • Develop and communicate the multi-year strategy for Quality Program maintenance and improvements in support of corporate strategies
  • Maintain Quality Certificates and ensure compliance across organization in support of scheduled appraisals and audits, to include overseeing internal audit program for ISO and CMMI
  • Recruit, train, and motivate matrixed personnel in both Operations Divisions and Corporate Staffs to support Quality Team and Program initiatives
  • Update, develop, and deliver training related to the Quality Program and identified PM training needs (including support to CALIBRE University and the PM Community)
  • Develop and manage the Quality Program annual budget, and update Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer (EVP & CFO) on execution
  • Support cross-CALIBRE initiatives related to corporate process improvement and successful strategy execution
  • Coordinate with EVP & CFO and Executive Vice President & Chief Operations Officer on major process improvement strategies
  • Coordinate and communicate activities with Corporate Staff and the OPS community
  • Conduct outreach to the Corporate Staff and OPS community to determine opportunities for continuous process improvement
  • Update and maintain Quality Program documents, including the Project Management Process Instruction (PMPI) and appendices, the Quality Management Program (QMP) and Quality Management Program Environmental (QMP-E), and other relevant supporting documentation (e.g., relevant Policies & Procedures (P&P) sections)
  • Coordinate the quality components of the Software Engineering Process Instruction (SEPI) and the DES Addendum
  • Evaluate potential quality certifications and recommend appropriate courses of action and strategies for achieving next level certifications
  • Travel to CALIBRE sites on an as-needed basis

  • Is recognized as a trusted advisor, mentor, and subject matter expert in one or more functional areas
  • Employ executive level managerial and communication skills to develop, present, and promote integrated solutions and strategic messages to senior managers
  • Apply extensive executive skills in establishing and maintaining successful working relationships with Corporate Officers, Directors, Project Managers, staff, and other business enterprises and partners
  • Knowledge of trends in government and industry that affect assigned business areas
  • Experience as a Project Manager on projects similar in scope to those considered in scope for ISO and CMMI audit programs
  • In-depth knowledge of CALIBRE capabilities and processes preferred

required Experience

  • Possess a BA or BS degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent level of experience. An advanced degree is preferred
  • Professional certification, where appropriate, is preferred
  • Eight or more years of progressive functional experience that includes experience in the application of technical, programmatic and analytical methodologies, information technology and tools
  • Demonstrated experience in management and resource allocation is required
